About Us
Our story began in 2005 with First Lady Sharon Harris, and her sister Sharee Knight, of Now Faith Church of Deliverance. They put together a royal party to show appreciation and support towards the Royal Princesses of Now Faith. This regal gathering was made to encourage our young ladies in the Lord, in life and to build self esteem, self confidence, self respect and the sense of one’s own self worth.
It was asked that the Princesses wear royal attire to the event. There were many princesses whose families could not provide this. No worries! Dresses, accessories, supplies and gifts were provided for them so that NO ONE was or felt left out!
The event grew every year as the Princesses and the growing popularity of the event began to multiply!
In 2006 Kandis Spencer and Jennifer Knight, Princess Ball committee members, decided to take over the task of planning the 2007 event, and it was a success. More than the expected number of guest showed up and all were accommodated!
In all the excitement about our Princesses, the Princes of the church were feeling a bit left out. Not only do young ladies deal with issues like low self esteem, low self confidence, low self respect and even a low sense of one’s self worth, but young men face these issues as just the same.
So the 2010 event would now be known as the “Prince and Princess Ball”. This new event would not only include all the children of the ministry, their families and personal friends, BUT would also include children from the community as well.
The new committee members had the challenging mission of engaging community support for the events. Letters, flyers and phone calls were made asking for community and local business support and participation. At times it was a discouraging assignment. Most of the materials, supplies and food items were paid for out of the pockets of the committee as well as the funds for the rented facilities to host the events in. But the committee pressed through it by continuing to seek support. Fundraisers were put on and donations were accepted. They also took the message to the internet and invited Sacramento to help and participate in the event. That deemed to be a very positive move.
Between 2008 and 2010, Sacramento communities donated money, gift certificates, flowers, food, dresses and suits for the children including accessories. In 2010 six students from Valley High School in Sacramento, CA, volunteered their time by decorating and catering to the guests at the event along with members of the Now Faith Church of Deliverance Ministry.
These events have touched the lives of more than 300 Princes, Princesses and their families in Sacramento, CA. We are looking forward to another great event in 2012. Hope to see you there!
